Of course, you have to have attended an ATP tennis match live to be in position to weigh in here? Other than the great sex I have had at these events, sometimes you have to wonder if attending every event is worth it for the following:
-The weather compared to your roof, heating, A/C etc.
-Uncomfortable seating […]

Why is arguing with the umpire tolerated?
March 8th, 2010 · No Comments
Has it EVER resulted in the umpire overturning the call? If not, shouldn’t it be discouraged if not abolished?
NBA tacks on a ‘technical’ which not only awards a free throw to the opposing team, the player himself is personally fined, I think, $500.
So unless you are requesting a ‘challenge’ there’s really no need to stand […]

John Isner took Novak Djokovic, arguably the third best clay court player in the world last year, to five sets on clay in Serbia.
I’m going to say that again:
John Isner took Novak Djokovic, arguably the third best clay court player in the world last year, to five sets on clay in Serbia.
Make of the American’s game whatever you will, but that was some effort.
Apparently, Venus Williams was tweeting about her nerves. If one believes Justin Gimelstob, President Obama was watching the match.
Whatever the case, Isner spilled his blood and guts all over the place. Made a temperamental Djoke earn it.
All this after pinch hitting for Mike Bryan in doubles the day before and getting the win to give himself a chance to do it again in singles.
Who knows what would have happened had Isner been fresh for the crucial singles rubber, but what did happen was fantabulous. One of our guests who doesn’t even watch tennis couldn’t avert her eyes in the match’s final game.
I think this new American team has a foundation upon which to build a competitive team.

David Nalbandian plays Davis Cup ties like no other. Just when you thought it was safe to write him off once again….
Injured a few weeks back, he kept Argentina in the tie against Sweden in Sweden by winning the doubles rubber with Horacio Zeballos and then clinches the tie with a four-set win in the live fifth.
Most Valuable Player.

Britain promises “swift and decisive” action regarding its Davis Cup team following a 3-2 loss to Lithuania. The loss was Britain’s fifth in a row under captain John Lloyd and it now has to beat Turkey to avoid dropping to the lowest tier of the competition. Davis Cup: You know it’s bad when Andy Roddick sits.
March 8th, 2010 · No Comments
Blah blah blah. I could go on and on about how screwed up the Davis Cup system is, couldn’t I? How stupid it is to spread this event out haphazardly throughout the year, tossing whatever momentum that’s begun to mount right out the window. Oh, and then there’s the unbelievably brilliant move to set it up at various sites through the world, making it really hard to keep track of all the matches.Well, it’s clear that organizers couldn’t care less what we useless fans think. But when the players begin to pull out, maybe — just maybe — it’s time

The BNP Paribas Open will be broadcast on Tennis Channel this year, rather than being not broadcast on the Fox Sports Network.
